Hi, I’m Juniper. This is my first Substack post, but I’m not new to my area of expertise: inner peace.
In my writings here, I’ll be talking about the journey to peace.
And Yellowstone.
Yellowstone? The TV show or the place? Why?
I never worked on Yellowstone the show, though I probably could have been a production assistant or background during its last season. I did just a few days of PA and background on the spin-off, 1923. My only claim to nothing-close-to fame is that I appear as a background actor, really a distant blur on a bench, for the last three seconds of episode 1, season 2 in 1923.
But Harrison Ford, Darren Mann, and the other cowboys were walking toward me in that scene - which isn’t a daily occurrence - so it wasn’t bad for a day of work, even if it was a very cold day to be wearing 1920s clothing in Montana. What thin stockings you have on my dear!
But I’ll focus mostly on inner peace and how my trips to Yellowstone the place mirror the journey to ease.
When it comes to peace, it’s been a long, quick journey.
I’ve been meditating for over 25 years. Not continuously, but enough to consider myself an expert, a professional meditator. In part because I lived in a monastery for over a year, and because I’m non-denominational: I call myself a freelance nun.
And a writer and actor.
So why bother calling myself a freelance nun and . . . what is that, exactly?
You’ll just have to keep reading, but a partial answer includes my commitment to peace over the years, the thousands of hours spent in meditation, and the fact that my favorite time to be awake is - you guess. When does a nun like to be awake?
If your answer is in the proximity of 3-5 am, ding, ding, we have winners!
But you don’t have to become a meditation expert or wake up that early to find peace. We each get to customize our path - we can’t copy someone else’s plan. Your path to ease might look completely different than mine - but we can still learn from each other’s journey. I hope you can learn from my mistakes.
And I hope that you can remember that inner peace is the world’s most accessible, eco-friendly resource. It expands the more people use it.
And there’s nothing shorter than the journey to inner peace - once you know the way.
There will be naysayers though. Perhaps a lot. You might be one of them.
If you’ve been feeling inner turmoil lately, you aren’t alone. Why is it so hard to feel just sorta neutral two days in a row, much less great or suffused with a light and bright inner ease?!!!! It’s hard to stay even-keel if you’re worried about your future, or if you’ve faced hardship. There are many reasons for concern about the state of the world.
It can feel too chaotic just looking at headlines, much less going outside and facing a fast-changing planet. Nothing stays the same for two days in a row, often not even for two hours in a row.
Chaos is intimidating. We have good reasons to not like it. Chaos is also normal.
So normal, it will be part of your journey. So normal, it’s best to learn how to get through chaos, rather than ignore life’s messiness. The good news is that you can learn to find peace in disorder, calm in chaos.
My own story is filled with examples of finding myself in chaos and learning how to find balance in spite of the challenges and setbacks.
Travel with me, to peace. And Yellowstone.
I’ll be sharing stories, insights, and tips for inner peace. I’ll also include photos and videos to make the journey more beautiful and relaxing.
Unless otherwise noted, such as the photo of me by Adrianna Reid at Soul Craft Media, all photos and videos will be my own.
